Meet Sara Gullett, she has been a member of Auburn Fit1 since September of 2015. Sara can be found working out 5-6 days a week, anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour and a half.  In order to avoid plateaus and to keep herself motivated, Sara tries to vary her workouts.

One day a week, she enjoys a long run.  The remaining 4-5 days she alternates upper body, lower body, abs, HIIT and incorporates cardio into each workout whether it is for 20 or 45 minutes.  Her Cardio may consist of a run outside, using the treadmill, elliptical or stationary bike. She always incorporates at least 10-15 minutes of stretching after a workout and foam rolling to help prevent and ease any DOMS and to increase her flexibility.

She often utilizes YouTube videos, Instagram accounts and other apps on her phone for inspiration.  On the days when she has less time, she will up her workout intensity and incorporate jumping rope between sets. Recently, Sara has incorporated drop sets with free weights to increase her strength training.

Sara also shared that she has always been into hiking and being outdoors, so even on her rest days she will remain active by going for a long walk or a hike.

When asked about what she loves most about Auburn Fit1, Sarah mentioned that she appreciates the friendliness of the staff, the flexibility in hours, and the convenience of being so close to Auburn Fit1 as it keeps her consistent and motivated to workout.

When talking to her about her goal setting, Sara mentioned upping her mileage on her long runs and workouts to work towards faster mile times.  Otherwise, she enjoys the feeling of completing a good and often, tough workout. She said that working out makes her days feel more productive, energized and accomplished.
