Mary Flannigan
Since December 2012, Mary has been teaching indoor cycling on Monday, Wednesday & Friday at 5:30 AM. Participating in indoor cycling is an ideal way to start the day, and she finds that the class truly “jump starts” her busy work day as a Special Education teacher.
While teaching at Rock Creek Elementary is a full-time—plus endeavor, Mary also loves to plan trips. In 2018, she hopes to visit her in-laws in New Zealand and celebrate the 40th birthday of her younger brother in Greece. She annually attends the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells each Spring with her family too, including her grandparents!
Interested in taking Indoor Cycling with Mary Flannigan?
If new to the world of Indoor cycling, know that it is a high energy class that involves seated and out of the saddle positions such as steady inclines, speed bursts, jumping simulation, fast flat roads and gradual climbs. Cycling is especially helpful for those seeking minimal impact to the hip, knee & ankle joints because pedaling on the bike allows for proper flexion and extension without pounding on hard surfaces. Additionally, the workout is excellent for cross training and can be modified for those recovering from injuries. Mary incorporates intervals on Mondays and Wednesdays while Fridays are reserved for Hills and Abs (last 5 minutes). Come and join the fun!
