Member of the Month – June 2019
Sally has been a member of Auburn Fit1 since October of 2015. When Sally first arrived at Fit1, she had been at another club that relocated and the classes they offered did not work for her. She met with then manager Jamie Vinciguerra to see if Fit1 offered classes that would work for Sally and determined that the beginner Pilates class on Wednesday’s would be an option for Sally.
When Sally first started the Pilates class, she was uncertain if she could participate in the full 55-minutes. She was challenged with movement due to chronic neck and lower back pain. Sally shared with us “Jamie, my Pilates instructor was so wonderful, giving me modified movements that I could do. Little by little I began to get stronger and was able to do more.”
Sally cannot lift both legs at the same time when doing Pilates mat work and probably never will to Sally cannot lift both legs at the same time when doing Pilates mat work, but she shared that she can tell she has improved and is stronger in her daily duties. Sally looks forward to her Wednesday Pilates class.
Sally is also the Grandmother of 16 grandchildren (pictured with 15) and 4 great grandchildren with another on the way!
Sally is a definite role model for anyone who suffers from chronic pain and we appreciate her sharing her story!
